2027: Hope Is Coming With Obi — NDC Spokesperson

The National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Osa Director, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future under the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, declaring that hope is on the way ahead of the 2027 general election.

Director’s remarks followed comments by the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, who pledged that the NDC would take necessary steps to reduce fuel prices if elected into office.

Kwankwaso had criticised the high cost of energy in Nigeria, saying the party would explore available measures, including the reintroduction of fuel subsidies, to bring down prices.

Speaking on Thursday, he said, “Our collective position now is that the price of energy in this country is too high.

“We are going to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the price of fuel in this country is taken back, including doing whatever we can, including the subsidy.”

Reacting to the statement, Director expressed confidence in Obi’s leadership, assuring Nigerians that the country would be better off under his administration.

In a post on X, he wrote, “Hope is on the way, President Obi is coming. Nigeria shall be OK. A new Nigeria is possible; we can do it.”

The comments come as political parties and their prospective candidates begin to outline their positions on economic challenges, including the rising cost of living and energy prices, ahead of the 2027 general election.
