2027: ‘Keep Playing, Tinubu Will Be There Till 2031’ — Igbokwe Declares

Joe Igbokwe, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has issued a bold warning to those eyeing the 2027 presidential race, claiming that they will face a harsh lesson come Election Day.

The APC chieftain made the declaration in a post on his official Facebook page, where he expressed his frustration with what he described as “fake news” circulating among prospective candidates.

Igbokwe’s post read, “It looks as if FAKE NEWS is what some people plan to use to win elections in 2027. Please encourage them to continue. By 12 noon on Election Day, some people will learn lessons they will never, ever forget in a hurry. Make we de play.”

The statement, laced with veiled threats, comes as Igbokwe, a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu, doubled down on his belief that the current president will remain in power until 2031.

Igbokwe, who was a key figure in Tinubu’s 2023 campaign, has consistently asserted that opposition efforts for the upcoming election cycle are futile.

He further dismissed any claims that opposition figures have the momentum to unseat the APC, stating that their strategies for the 2027 elections are a waste of time.

As the political landscape shifts towards the 2027 race, Igbokwe’s remarks suggest that internal party dynamics and the influence of Tinubu’s loyalists will play a significant role in shaping the direction of the election.

His comment has sparked reactions from various quarters, as the country anticipates what promises to be another heated election cycle.
