The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The appointment was announced on Thursday, August 27, by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It takes immediate effect, with additional appointments to the campaign team expected to be announced later.
Makinde said Ehilebo’s background as a communication strategist and lawyer would strengthen the campaign’s efforts to communicate the APM’s message of resetting Nigeria and securing victory in the 2027 election.
The governor urged Nigerians to support the APM, describing the forthcoming election as an opportunity to replace what he called the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde affirmed.
Makinde formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on Thursday, May 14, 2026, under an alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the APM.
At a declaration rally held at Mapo Hall in Ibadan, which attracted a large crowd, Makinde announced his candidacy.
“Today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.”
Ehilebo’s appointment is the first major media-focused role announced as Makinde begins assembling his campaign structure ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
