The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Sunday Karimi, has called for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, while also seeking the continued support of his constituents for his return to the Senate.
Karimi made the call on Friday while addressing supporters at his country home in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State. He urged his supporters to mobilise across their communities in support of Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, stressing the need for unity among political stakeholders in the state.
“Our priority is to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027. I am not in a political tussle with anyone whatsoever in the state. The re-election of President Tinubu is a task that must be accomplished by all critical stakeholders in Kogi State,” the senator said.
Karimi assured his constituents of improved representation and development interventions if re-elected. He also listened to concerns and suggestions from residents, promising to continue raising their issues at the National Assembly.
Commending the president’s performance, Karimi described Tinubu’s efforts as tireless and focused on national development and security, despite prevailing challenges. He alleged that rising insecurity in parts of the country was aimed at undermining the administration, urging citizens not to lose hope.

The senator disclosed that he recently met with the Brigade Commander in Lokoja to address insecurity in Kogi West. According to him, the engagement would result in the deployment of troops to Olle-Bunu, Jege, Odo-Ere, Idofin and Isanlu communities to strengthen security in the area.
On the delayed reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe road, Karimi said the Federal Ministry of Works was awaiting approval from the Bureau of Public Procurement to commence the project. He added that he had personally contributed N3 billion to support the project, including N2 billion from his constituency allowance and an additional N1 billion, to hasten its completion.
Karimi concluded by pledging to continue lobbying for projects that would drive development in Kogi West, while reaffirming his commitment to the success of President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
