2027: Tinubu Ready For Opposition Parties, Says Wike

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are fully prepared for the 2027 presidential election, warning opposition parties against believing they can win power through rhetoric alone.

Wike spoke on Tuesday, July 14, while inaugurating the Bwari Satellite Town water supply network, one of the projects commissioned to commemorate Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

He said those seeking to unseat the President must understand that winning the presidency requires organisation, planning and political strength.

“I have told people who say that they want to be in power, you have heard it, it’s not ‘chochocho.’ To be president is not chochocho, you don’t wake up early in the morning and say that you want to be president, no it doesn’t happen that way.

“So we are prepared, the president is prepared, and everybody who has what it takes,” Wike said.

The minister also highlighted the Tinubu administration’s infrastructure achievements in the FCT, saying the ongoing commissioning of projects demonstrates the government’s commitment to development.

“Today is the 25th day of commissioning of projects to mark the third year anniversary of Mr President and it’s important for us to do this by letting people know, those that say they don’t have eyes let them know that something is happening in the Federal Capital Territory”, he said.
