2027: Tinubu Will Claim 2m S’East Votes, Obi Won’t Get Any Ticket — Bwala

Presidential special adviser Daniel Bwala has poured cold water on Peter Obi’s political prospects, claiming the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate will struggle to secure a ticket from any political party, including the African Democratic Congress.

Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, August 13, Bwala suggested that Obi’s chances of even being considered for a vice-presidential slot are growing slimmer by the day.

“He is not going to get a ticket in any of the parties. That is Peter Obi. The problem now is that he might not get the vice presidential ticket from the way things are going,” Bwala said.

He argued that Obi’s influence has taken a major hit since the last election, estimating his support base has dropped by half.

According to Bwala, the votes Obi received in 2023 were not built on a concrete political agenda but on “rhetoric and division.”

“Whether Peter Obi is a ticket bearer of the party, he has lost his 50 percent of votes because they were not votes built on agenda and politics, but they were built on rhetoric and division, and Nigeria’s people’s eyes are open,” he said.

Bwala also expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s political strength, predicting the president will secure two million votes from the South-East in 2027.
