The Federal Government on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, concluded the repatriation of Nigerians from South Africa as the final batch of evacuees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The last Air Peace flight deployed for the exercise touched down at about 11:30 a.m., carrying 315 Nigerian returnees and bringing the government-coordinated evacuation programme to a close.
The airlift operation, conducted in collaboration with Air Peace and other relevant agencies, facilitated the voluntary return of Nigerians who sought assistance to leave South Africa amid concerns over their safety and welfare.
