48 Arrested in Coordinated Night Raids on Criminal Hideouts Across Abuja

In a sweeping overnight operation, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended 48 suspects across various districts of Abuja, following intelligence-led raids on known criminal hotspots and hideouts.

The meticulously coordinated exercise, which began around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, involved personnel from multiple police divisions including Jikwoyi, Apo, Nyanya, Karu, Wuse, Kubwa, Dutse-Alhaji, Utako, and Kurudu.

The operation specifically targeted abandoned structures and uncompleted buildings—locations long believed to be shelters for criminal elements.

Authorities say a substantial quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp was seized during the crackdown.

All suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective divisional headquarters.

Police officials have assured the public that those found guilty of criminal activity will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
