Boko Haram terrorists raid Borno police station, gun down two, loot armoury

In a daring pre-dawn raid, suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, leaving a trail of destruction and casualties.

The attack resulted in the deaths of a police officer and a woman, with the insurgents making off with a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

Security sources revealed that the attack began around 1:00 am and lasted until 3:00 am, as the terrorists overpowered the station’s defenses.

During the assault, two patrol vehicles—one belonging to the police and another to the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF)—and a motorcycle were set ablaze.

The chairman of Konduga Local Government, Hon Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the incident, stating that more details would be provided as they became available.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer for Borno State, Nahun Kenneth, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.

Jakana, located approximately 45 kilometers from Maiduguri along the Damaturu-Maiduguri expressway, has been a frequent target of Boko Haram attacks, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
