Former President Muhammadu Buhari has claimed that Nigeria’s security and economy saw major improvements during his eight-year tenure.

Speaking on Wednesday while receiving members of the Katsina State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his home in Daura, Buhari insisted his administration effectively tackled the challenges he inherited in 2015.

He argued that his government’s policies helped curb terrorism and economic instability, though he acknowledged the difficulties leaders face in implementing reforms.

“Security and economy improved significantly in Nigeria under my administration compared to what we met in 2015. Things will continue to improve in Nigeria,” he said.

Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Alhaji Yusuf Jargaba, commended Buhari for his efforts in combating insecurity.

“Your hard work, dedication and selfless service to humanity were responsible for maintaining the country’s unity, making the country remain indivisible,” Jargaba stated.
