PSC Appoints Moshood Jimoh as Lagos Police Commissioner

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command.

Announcing the appointment on Monday, February 17, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani said: “The Police Service Commission, on Monday, February 17, 2025, approved the appointment of Moshood Jimoh as the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command.”

“CP Jimoh, before his appointment, was the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.”

A native of Kwara State, Jimoh previously served as the Force Public Relations Officer and held several key positions, including Deputy Commissioner for Airport Police, Finance and Administration, and General Investigation.

He has undergone extensive professional training both within Nigeria and abroad, including courses in combat operations, maritime rescue, counterterrorism, and executive leadership in countries such as the United States, China, South Korea, and Sudan.

Jimoh is also a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, presented by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in recognition of his contributions to public relations.

His confirmation followed his appearance before the PSC on Monday, where he was vetted by key officials, including the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje (rtd), and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (rtd).

The appointment is part of the Commission’s efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance policing in Lagos State.
