Security forces in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State have arrested a notorious arms trafficker, Hamza Suruddubu, who has been supplying weapons to terrorist groups operating in the region.
Counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Zagazola Makama, revealed that Suruddubu is a major supplier of arms to infamous bandits such as Bello Turji, Boka, and Halilu Buzu.
“Suruddubu, an arms dealer from Eastern Sokoto, has been deeply involved in the trafficking and distribution of weapons from Zamfara State to terrorist strongholds in Eastern Sokoto,” Makama stated.

Investigations indicate that Suruddubu not only provides firearms but also facilitates the supply of essential resources, including foodstuffs and motorcycles, to criminal groups operating in the region.
Makama further disclosed that some security operatives within the Shinkafi and Isa local government areas might be complicit in the illegal arms trade, raising concerns about internal corruption aiding criminal activities.
Authorities are now intensifying efforts to dismantle arms trafficking networks in the region and hold all collaborators accountable.
