The Katsina State Hisbah Board has issued a directive banning all nightclub activities across the state, citing the need to uphold moral values and ensure societal security.
Aminu Usman, the Hisbah commander-general, announced the decision in a statement released on Wednesday, emphasizing the importance of preserving societal ethics.
He urged nightclub owners to comply with the directive, stressing that the move aims to curb immoral practices and safeguard the security of residents in the north-western state.
“The board has mandated the closure of all nightclub establishments to protect societal values and address growing security concerns,” the statement read. “Violators of this order will face strict penalties, as security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance.”

Reaffirming Hisbah’s commitment to fostering a morally upright society, Usman stated that the ban aligns with broader efforts to maintain religious and ethical standards among residents of Katsina.
The board has also communicated the directive to relevant security agencies, including the state commissioner for internal security, to facilitate its enforcement.
Authorities are expected to work closely with law enforcement to ensure adherence to the new regulations.
