After months of speculation, accusations, and intense public scrutiny, Nigerian singer Naira Marley has finally been cleared of any involvement in the tragic death of his former signee, Mohbad.
A Yaba Magistrate Court, on the 25th of February, 2025, acquitted Naira Marley, alongside show promoter Sam Larry and Prime Boy, bringing an end to the legal battle that had kept the music industry and fans on edge.
Mohbad’s untimely demise, which occurred 18 months ago under mysterious circumstances, sent shockwaves across the internet.
As videos resurfaced, showing him being bullied by Marley and his associates, public outrage grew, fueling relentless demands for justice.

The pressure led to the arrest of Naira Marley and Sam Larry in October 2023, as many sought answers regarding the young artist’s death.
However, in a ruling that reshaped the narrative, the court found no grounds to link the trio to Mohbad’s passing, officially exonerating them.
Reacting to the judgment, Naira Marley took to X to express his gratitude, turning to his faith for solace. He shared a powerful verse from the Holy Quran, writing: “And whoever puts all his trust in Allah, he will be enough for him. (65:3).”
