Nigerian Air Force personnel reportedly stormed the headquarters of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, following the disconnection of electricity supply to the force’s logistics base.

The officers, who were furious about the disconnection, stormed the premises, insisting on an immediate reconnection despite unpaid bills and accusations of electricity theft.

A video currently making the rounds online captured over seven staff members kneeling on the ground while others were being physically assaulted.

In another video some armed personnel were captured patrolling the premises, further heightening concerns over the use of force against civilian workers.

An X (Formerly Twitter) user, identified as Casmir, #casfon, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said that the situation escalated quickly as the personnel went on a rampage, breaking down doors and searching for Ikeja Electric’s CEO, Mrs. Folake Soetan.

“When they found her, the officers allegedly assaulted Soetan and forced her into the trunk of a vehicle within the premises,” he said.

According to multiple reports, a similar attack had recently occurred at Ikeja Electric’s business unit on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Isolo, Lagos, where military personnel were seen wielding firearms and assaulting staff members.

This attack follows barely a day after Ikeja Electric disconnected the power supply to the NAF logistics base in Ikeja over unpaid bills and electricity theft.
