Prioritize Mental Health, Steer Clear of Civil Cases — Abia CP Advises Police Officers

In a decisive move to bolster security and enhance professionalism within the Abia State Police Command, Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, convened a high-level strategic meeting with senior officers at the Command’s Officers’ Mess in Umuahia, on the 6th of March, 2025.

The gathering brought together Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Heads of Departments (HODs), and Tactical Team Commanders to discuss critical policing strategies.

CP Isa underscored the importance of synergy between law enforcement and key stakeholders in combating crime across various Areas of Responsibility (AORs). He charged officers to be proactive in intelligence gathering and crime prevention while maintaining a strong community presence.

Beyond operational tactics, the Commissioner placed significant emphasis on the mental well-being of officers, highlighting that a sound mind is essential for sound judgment and professionalism.

He urged them to prioritize self-care while upholding the highest ethical standards in their duties.

Issuing a firm stance against misconduct, CP Isa warned officers to steer clear of meddling in civil cases, extortion, and corrupt practices, making it clear that strict disciplinary measures would be meted out against violators.

He also cautioned against the misuse of social media, reminding personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) social media policy and the need to uphold professionalism in both online and offline engagements.
