Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two Pakistanis, Roman Gull, 19, and Aftab Ahmad, 28, over their alleged involvement in the kidnap of a fellow Pakistani for ransom in the Ikeja area of Lagos.
The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, revealing that five other suspects linked to the crime are currently at large.
According to Hundeyin, the victim, a 48-year-old Pakistani, was lured from Kano to Lagos on February 28, 2025, under the pretense of securing a job as a chef.
The suspects reportedly booked the victim’s flight, lodged him in a hotel, and the following day overpowered him, tied his hands and legs, and demanded a ransom of N50 million from his boss in Kano.
“The boss paid N1 million three days later to buy time and thereafter alerted the police,” Hundeyin stated.

Acting on the distress call, anti-crime patrol operatives of the Ikeja Division swung into action, rescuing the victim and arresting two of the suspects, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining five suspects.
Items recovered at the scene include a grey Toyota Camry, the victim’s $2,000 cash, three ATM cards, a green card, driver’s license, and NIN slip.
The rescued victim is reportedly in good condition and has reconnected with his family.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, commended the officers for their swift action and reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safety and security in the state.
