Antonio Rüdiger was the hero once again as Real Madrid edged past Atletico Madrid in a tense UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash, winning 4-3 on penalties after a dramatic 2-2 aggregate draw.
Atletico had forced extra time with Gallagher C. goal in stop early in the first half 1st munite, winning 1-0 on the night after losing 2-1 in the first leg.

Real Madrid had a golden opportunity to seal the tie in added time when Kylian Mbappe won a penalty, but Vinícius Jr. skied his effort over the bar, sending the game into extra time and, eventually, a penalty shootout.
With both sides converting three of their first four penalties, it was Rüdiger who stepped up once again—just like in last season’s quarter-final against Manchester City—to deliver the decisive spot-kick, sending Madrid into the last eight.
