Controversial social media firebrand, Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan, has thrown down the gauntlet after a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, issued a bench warrant for his arrest over allegations of “criminal defamation” against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna sanctioned the arrest order on Thursday, the 13th of March, 2025, following VeryDarkMan’s failure to honor a court summons dated for the 5th of March, 2025.

In a brazen response via his Instagram story, the outspoken critic, currently outside Nigeria, mocked security agencies, daring them to apprehend him upon his return.
Unfazed by the looming legal battle, he doubled down on his defiant stance, writing in Pidgin: “I dey come Naija very soon, make una ready to arrest me for airport. Arrest no be new thing for the Ratel na.”
