The Federal Government has unveiled plans to create “Renewed Hope Cultural Villages” in all 36 states as part of efforts to preserve Nigeria’s cultural heritage and boost tourism.
Mr. Abiola Jagunlabi, Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, revealed this in an interview with journalists in Ilorin.
He said the initiative is part of the broader “Renewed Hope Cultural Project” aimed at transforming historic sites into creative hubs that will drive economic growth and job creation.
“The project’s success relies on the active participation and collaboration of state governments, local communities, and stakeholders.
“By working together, Nigeria can unlock the transformative power of its arts, culture, tourism, and creative industries for sustainable development and social cohesion,” Jagunlabi said.

He explained that the project will focus on restoring and preserving historic sites, monuments, palaces, and artifacts while also promoting cultural education and local crafts.
The initiative, which aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is expected to create thousands of jobs and generate revenue through tourism and creative enterprises.
Jagunlabi further noted that Minister Hannatu Musawa is committed to strengthening Nigeria’s economy through innovative programmes and policies.
By forging strategic partnerships, she aims to develop the creative industry and open up more job opportunities for young Nigerians.
He added that the National Economic Council (NEC) has already approved the project, paving the way for its implementation across the country.
