Popular Afrobeats singer Kcee, whose real name is Kingsley Okonkwo, has shared details about his past high-profile relationship with Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo, revealing that their involvement was serious and they came close to getting married before the relationship ultimately ended.
The “Limpopo” hitmaker made the disclosure during a recent appearance on the “Tea With Tay” podcast hosted by Temisan Emmanuel. Clips from the interview began trending online on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Reflecting on his early career and the intense media attention surrounding his personal life at the time, Kcee spoke about the period before social media became dominant.
“My scandals were before social media became rampant,” he noted. “I was just a young boy dating one actress. Me and actresses were always headlining the papers. I loved actresses back then. Who wouldn’t?”
He specifically named Ebube Nwagbo, confirming the significant nature of their past romance which frequently featured in news headlines and on red carpets.

“I can’t name all the actresses I’ve dated, but I will mention that our relationship was everywhere; Ebube Nwagbo. We were always on the front covers of newspapers,” Kcee recalled.
He then revealed the depth of their connection, stating, “We were close to getting married before whatever happened, happened.”
Kcee has since moved on from that chapter and is currently married to his wife, Ijeoma, with whom he shares two children.
Ebube Nwagbo, according to the provided information, is currently single and has previously been romantically associated with other public figures.
