The Nigeria Police Force has condemned a video circulating on social media showing police officers receiving money from a Chinese national.
Describing the action as unprofessional and unethical, the police stated that the actions of the officers do not represent the established ethics, standards, and core values of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday, said that the Force has zero tolerance for such unprofessional behaviour and other forms of misconduct, which undermine public trust and confidence.
According to the statement, the officers captured in the video have been identified and subjected to disciplinary proceedings.

The Nigeria Police Force has urged individuals and organisations that benefit from the services of police personnel—especially those serving as escorts, guards, or in other specialized roles—to refrain from any actions that may undermine the integrity of its officers and tarnish the reputation of the Force.
First News on Tuesday, reported that several Nigerian police officers were caught on camera receiving N5,000 each from a Chinese man and his family.
The footage, which went viral on Tuesday, captured uniformed officers lining up as a Chinese man hands them cash gifts.
The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from the public and human rights advocates, who described it as disgraceful and damaging to the image of the Nigerian police.
