Comedian Oluwaseyitan Aletile, better known as Seyi Law, isn’t backing down.
The entertainer, who openly campaigned for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 election season, has made it clear he still believes in the president’s capacity despite the growing dissatisfaction in the country.
He is not sugarcoating anything, he acknowledged the economic strain and rising insecurity.
Yet, in his view, “if Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot redirect the ship of Nigeria, no politician currently can do it. None. Not Atiku, not Peter Obi. Not with what I know about all of them.”
Seyi Law’s position comes with a cost, he revealed that his open support for Tinubu has led to a decline in show attendance and fan support.
But he is not apologizing, instead, he is focused on the long-term impact: “Some Nigerians hate me for supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They don’t even support my shows anymore. You might not support me today but I will want to be 70 and 80 and I see my children enjoying the benefits of the sacrifices I have made today.”

His loyalty to Tinubu stems from a deep distrust of the alternatives.
He argued that neither Atiku Abubakar of the PDP nor Peter Obi of the Labour Party would have done better, based on what he knows about their records.
Seyi Law made these remarks during a recent chat on the Teju Babyface podcast.
It’s a risky stance in a divided nation.
But for the comedian, staying silent is not an option.
