In a decisive and strongly worded statement aired on Arise News, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, has declared his unwavering stance against any form of political alliance or working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a “man of ill-repute.”

Pearse’s comments come amidst ongoing discussions and speculations regarding potential coalitions among opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.

During the interview, Pearse emphatically stated, “I can never work for President Tinubu. He’s a man of ill-repute.”

He further elaborated on his commitment to the PDP, asserting, “I’m working for the PDP. Nigeria doesn’t deserve a terrible president like Tinubu.”

Pearse addressed the recent surge in allegations gaining traction, suggesting they are fueled by certain members of the Labour Party who desire an alliance with the PDP.

He stated, “The reason these allegations are gaining traction is because some members of the Labour Party want me and the PDP to come into their party.”

Furthermore, Pearse directly challenged the notion that a coalition is the only viable strategy for defeating President Tinubu in the upcoming elections.

He argued, “Atiku is wrong to think a coalition is the only answer to defeating President Tinubu in 2027.”

Pearse’s statement clearly indicates a divergence from the widely discussed coalition approach.
