Tragedy has struck once again on the notorious Karu Bridge along the Nyanya-Keffi expressway in Abuja, following a fresh accident involving a trailer and a small vehicle transporting sachet water—popularly known as “pure water.”
Eyewitnesses at the scene recounted the horrific moment the heavy-duty trailer collided with the smaller vehicle, causing panic and a fresh wave of concern among commuters and residents.
The accident is said to have occurred early Monday morning, disrupting traffic and prompting swift response from emergency services.
This latest incident comes less than 24 hours after a fatal crash claimed multiple lives at the same location, spotlighting growing concerns over the safety of the highway, which remains one of the busiest routes connecting the FCT to neighbouring towns and states.

At the time of reporting, emergency responders, including men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), are on ground managing the situation.
While the number of casualties has not yet been officially confirmed, the severity of the collision has raised fears of significant injuries or possible fatalities.
Residents and motorists have called for urgent government intervention, including the deployment of traffic personnel and installation of speed control mechanisms to prevent further tragedies.
