Distribute Emefiele’s 753 Properties to Schools, Others — Shehu Sani Tells FG

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has proposed a bold idea for the 753 Abuja houses confiscated from ex-CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele.

Rather than letting the properties gather dust, Sani wants them put to academic use.

He shared this on X: “The 753 seized Houses in Abuja should be shared to all Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and Research Institutes. It’s enough to go round.

“They can decide what they want to do with it. The future generation will learn from the history of the Houses and appreciate the actions taken.”

According to him, these buildings could serve campuses, research hubs, or even student housing. The idea, he says, is not just about allocation but about legacy.

Recall that In December 2024, the EFCC won a court case to permanently seize the properties 753 duplexes in Abuja’s Lokogoma district.

Justice Jude Onwegbuzie of the FCT High Court ruled in favor of the forfeiture.

The EFCC has since transferred control of the estate to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

Now, Sani wants the ministry to give them a new purpose: educational growth and historical reflection.
