Controversial social media figure, VeryDarkMan, has sparked widespread praise online after he publicly called out Nigerian music heavyweights — Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid — for flaunting multi-billion naira luxury cars while millions of Nigerians grapple with economic hardship.
The fiery critic, known for his blunt commentaries, didn’t hold back in a viral Instagram video, lambasting the trio for what he termed insensitivity to the suffering of their fans and the broader Nigerian populace.
This comes after Burna Boy reportedly became the first African to acquire the new McLaren Sienna, worth a staggering ₦3.5 billion.
Mere hours later, Davido was said to have purchased a 2026 Mercedes Maybach SL 680 for ₦1.2 billion, while Wizkid was also previously reported to have splashed ₦1.7 billion on a luxury ride months ago.
In his video, VeryDarkMan — who is known to be close to Davido — questioned the societal impact of these stars’ wealth, especially as it relates to their communities.
“Yesterday I saw the news that Burna Boy bought a ₦3.5 billion car. The same yesterday, Davido bought a car of over ₦1 billion,” he began. “The question I have for Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido is: Don’t you people read the room? Can’t you see the state of the country you come from?”
Taking direct aim at Davido, he continued:

“Let me start with Davido because na you I know well — you’re my guy. What can you beat your chest and say you’ve done for the people of Osun State where you come from? What have you built that benefits the youths?”
He further challenged the trio to reflect on the fact that their fame and fortune are built largely on the support of everyday Nigerians, many of whom are struggling under the weight of inflation, unemployment, and insecurity.
Many Nigerians online have since applauded VeryDarkMan for speaking out, describing his message as timely and courageous in an era where celebrity culture often overshadows the realities of the streets.
The video continues to trend across social media platforms, igniting debates about celebrity responsibility, philanthropy, and the expectations placed on public figures in times of national distress.
