Panic and grief have gripped the Yar Goje community in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State following a brutal attack by suspected bandits on Thursday evening.
According to reports shared by security analyst Bakatsine, via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, the attackers stormed the village, unleashing a wave of sporadic gunfire that left several residents dead, many injured, and an undisclosed number abducted.
“Yesterday evening, bandits invaded Yar Goje community in Kankara LGA, Katsina State, shooting sporadically,” Bakatsine wrote. “They killed multiple people, injured many, and abducted several others during the invasion.”
Although precise casualty figures remain unclear, local accounts suggest a significant loss of life and widespread trauma among survivors.
As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released by the Katsina State Police Command or any other security agency.
