Barau, Ganduje Land in Madina for Dantata’s Burial

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, and former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, for the burial of elder statesman and businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

This was confirmed in a statement issued on the 1st of July, 2025, by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy Senate President.

Barau and Ganduje left Abuja on Monday evening and landed at the Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Madina, by 5:15 a.m. Saudi time. They were joined by dignitaries from Kano and other parts of Nigeria.

Those in their company include Kano APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas; Senate Committee Chairman on Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND, Senator Muntari Dandutse; Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Ali Madaki; and Hon. Sani Bala.

Others present are Ahmad Munzali Dantata, a son of the deceased; Engr. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, representing Makoda/Dambatta; and Usman Yahaya Kansila, among several others.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a prominent philanthropist and industrialist, died in Abu Dhabi, UAE, over the weekend.

He will be buried on the 1st of July, 2026, in Madina, beside his late wife, Rabi’a, who passed away last year.
