The Lagos State Government has shut down a property at 32 Ogunkoya Street, Ikosi-Ketu, after confirmed incidents of illegal waste disposal on the site.
Announcing the action via his verified X account, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, said the enforcement team acted promptly after receiving residents’ complaints.
According to Wahab, the team arrived at the property on Monday evening, confirmed the environmental violation, and immediately sealed the building.

He stressed that such acts of environmental abuse would not be tolerated by the state.
He also said monitoring and enforcement activities are being ramped up in various communities to ensure people follow the rules.
“This should serve as a clear warning, Lagos will not condone environmental sabotage,” the enforcement team stated, assuring residents that surveillance efforts are ongoing in all areas.
