Traditional drummers, well-wishers, and relatives gathered at the home of former Oyo State Governor, Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, on the 7th of July, 2025, after he was named the Olubadan designate.
Ladoja, who currently holds the title of Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, is next in line for the throne.
Reports indicate that a steady stream of visitors has been arriving at his residence on Ondo Street, Old Bodija, Ibadan.
This development followed the death of the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, whose passing became public early Monday.

A source close to Ladoja confirmed he was not at home, but said the crowd’s presence reflects custom.
“Yes, many people are here as you can see. But Baba is not around. It is the tradition that drummers and chanters will move to the residence of the person to ascend the throne immediately after the passage of the last occupant.”
