Remo Stars’ breakout star Adedayo Olamilekan has been named the Player of the Season after a remarkable campaign that saw the club clinch its first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title.
To crown his stellar performance, the 23-year-old central midfielder was awarded a brand new GAC SUV at a ceremony held in Ikenne on Sunday night.
Olamilekan’s season-defining moment came in the title-deciding clash against Niger Tornadoes, where he scored the winning goal in the 84th minute — a thunderous strike that secured Remo Stars’ 1-0 victory and wrote their name into Nigerian football history.
“It’s a dream come true,” Olamilekan told reporters after receiving the keys to the SUV. “This season was about belief, unity, and hard work. I’m honored to be recognized, but this is for the whole team and our amazing fans.”
Known for his composure, vision, and tireless work rate, Olamilekan was a central figure throughout the season, orchestrating play from the middle of the park and contributing crucial goals and assists during the club’s title run.

Remo Stars chairman Kunle Soname praised the young midfielder, calling him “a true leader on and off the pitch.”
“He embodies everything we stand for — discipline, ambition, and excellence. This award is richly deserved, and we believe this is only the beginning for Adedayo,” Soname said.
The award not only cements Olamilekan’s status as one of the league’s brightest talents but also raises speculation over potential moves abroad, with scouts reportedly monitoring his development throughout the season.
As the fans continue celebrating Remo Stars’ historic achievement, Adedayo Olamilekan’s heroics remain the highlight of a fairytale season — one that promises even more in the years ahead.
