A combined enforcement team from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has shut down Light House Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki, for violating environmental rules.
The action was taken on Monday, the 21st of July, 2025, and announced by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
He said the club was sealed for persistent noise pollution and failure to act on previous warnings.
Wahab explained that the club had breached Lagos State’s noise control laws and that regulatory bodies had stepped in after earlier notices were ignored.
He confirmed the shutdown would remain in place until the club meets all environmental requirements.

“This includes installing appropriate soundproofing systems and undergoing verification by LASEPA to confirm that noise emissions fall within the approved limits,” Wahab explained.
He warned that entertainment facilities that flout environmental laws will not be spared.
“Our environmental laws are not negotiable. The right of Lagos residents to enjoy peace and quiet in their communities will always take priority over commercial interests,” Wahab asserted.
