After a summer of tense negotiations and transfer drama, Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen is now on the verge of completing a high-profile move to Turkish champions Galatasaray, with a medical scheduled following the club’s successful agreement with Napoli.
The deal, reportedly worth €75 million, includes €40 million upfront and a remaining €35 million to be paid in staggered installments by June 2026, according to insiders familiar with the arrangement.
Napoli, wary of past dealings with Galatasaray, demanded—and received—bank guarantees and clauses to avoid a repeat of delayed payments similar to those involving Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili in 2014.
Wazobia FM’s Onyebuchi Onokala, a consistent voice in the unfolding saga, confirmed the news in a social media update:
“Deal done: Victor James Osimhen to Galatasaray on a permanent move. Final agreement reached between Napoli and Galatasaray for €75m as Galatasaray meets all conditions. Napoli gets 10% of future sale.”
Osimhen, who racked up 37 goals and 8 assists during his standout loan spell last season in Istanbul, had been determined to remain with Galatasaray despite interest from other clubs, including a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia that he rejected.
Napoli had earlier set a hard Monday deadline for paperwork completion, particularly after terms were settled around a non-Serie A resale clause and future sale percentages.

Italian football insider Fabrizio Romano added that the deal includes €5 million in performance-based add-ons, largely tied to Osimhen’s goal tally.
The 26-year-old’s exit marks the end of a tense relationship with Napoli, which began to unravel last summer. Despite his impressive on-field contributions, internal friction with the club’s top brass made a reunion unlikely.
Napoli maintained the €75m valuation even after Osimhen’s release clause technically expired on July 15, underscoring their commitment to recouping full value.
Crucially, Galatasaray has agreed to a restrictive clause that would see them incur a heavy financial penalty should Osimhen be sold to another Serie A side within two years—part of Napoli’s conditions to prevent strengthening domestic rivals.
Osimhen is expected to complete his medicals this week before signing a long-term contract that cements him as the marquee name in Galatasaray’s ambitions for European dominance.
Having lit up the Süper Lig with his clinical finishing and explosive pace, Galatasaray fans will now be hoping the Nigerian international can deliver even more magic—this time, as their own.
