Several ISWAP members have been eliminated and an arms storage facility destroyed during targeted airstrikes by the Nigerian Air Force in Marte LGA, Borno State.
The strikes, launched by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai on Sunday, focused on terrorist hideouts around Arinna Waje.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared details of the operation in a post on X, revealing that the offensive followed days of surveillance and solid intelligence. The intelligence reportedly confirmed a large ISWAP presence in the area, shortly after a violent clash with Boko Haram fighters.
“NAF aircraft were scrambled to engage the identified locations in a series of well-coordinated bombardments,” the analyst quoted military sources as saying.

According to the sources, “the strikes, executed with surgical precision, resulted in the total annihilation of several terrorist enclaves and logistics nodes within the target area. One of the airstrikes also triggered a secondary explosion, confirming a direct hit on a major terrorist ammunition storage site.”
Some senior ISWAP leaders were reportedly among those killed.
The Air Force said it would continue working closely with ground troops and intelligence units to sustain pressure on terrorist groups operating around Lake Chad and Sambisa.
