Spotify to Raise Premium Subscription Fee in Nigeria, Others

Spotify has announced it will increase the monthly fee for its premium individual subscription in Nigeria and other selected regions starting in September 2025.

According to a blog post published its website on Monday, August 4, the new rate will rise to 11.99 euros per month, up from the current 10.99 euros.

This adjustment will affect subscribers in regions including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific.

The company said users will begin receiving emails in the coming weeks to notify them of the price change and what it means for their subscriptions.

A part of the email reads: “Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in September, your subscription price will change from 10,99 €/month to 11,99 €/month.”

Spotify explained that the price hike is aimed at supporting ongoing innovation and enhancing user experience.

“To continue to innovate on our product offerings and features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices,” the company stated.

“Over the next month, Premium subscribers in multiple markets across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region will receive an email explaining what this update means for their subscriptions,” it added.
