A former Minister of Police Affairs and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, has labelled President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a catastrophic failure, claiming it has performed worse than the widely criticised government of Muhammadu Buhari.
Waziri, speaking in an interview with Trust Television, seen by First Daily correspondent on Tuesday, August 5, said Nigeria was heading for deeper crisis under Tinubu’s watch, warning that the government had failed on all fronts.
“If the Buhari government was a failure, the Tinubu government in the last two years is a disastrous catastrophe. It has failed in all ramifications, and the country has regressed,” he said.
He pointed to rising insecurity, economic collapse, and worsening corruption as indicators of a government that has lost its grip on national stability.
“The economy is collapsing, ethnocentrism is at an all-time high, and insecurity continues to ravage many states,” he added.

According to him, Nigeria has grown more fragile and polarised since Tinubu took office, with no clear direction for the country.
Waziri said he found it troubling that some individuals still publicly support the government despite being directly affected by banditry.
“I am surprised that people whose local governments are under the control of bandits can appear on national television to endorse this government,” he said.
He urged Nigerians to critically evaluate the administration’s performance and ignore media spin or orchestrated endorsements.
“A government that has presided over national decline in every sector cannot credibly seek reelection,” he said.
