AfroBasket 2025: D’Tigers Eye Second Title in Angola

Nigeria’s men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have announced their final roster for the 2025 Men’s AfroBasket Championship, which will be held in Angola from August 12 to 24.

The team will be aiming to win their second continental title, ten years after securing their maiden triumph in 2015.

They hope to replicate the success of the women’s team, D’Tigress, who currently reign as African champions.

Drawn in Group B, D’Tigers will face Tunisia, Madagascar, and Cameroon. Their opening game is against Madagascar on August 13.

Tunisia enter the tournament as defending champions, while Angola, the host nation, hold the record with 11 AfroBasket titles.

Head coach Mohammed Abdulrahman trimmed his training camp squad, leaving out Fola Fayemi, Kareem Joseph, and Mohamed AbdulSalam. Big man Peter Olisemeka was also excluded after being ruled ineligible.
