The traditional ruler of Sagbe community, Oba Isiaka Sadiku Lawal, has raised an alarm over repeated attacks by armed bandits in parts of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.
He called on the state government, the local government chairman, and the Commander of the Nigerian Army at Sobi Cantonment to urgently intervene and protect the affected areas.
In an audio appeal now circulating widely, the monarch named seven communities currently facing bandit invasions: Ologoma, Ajegunle, Igbo-Agbon, Alabadera, Owode, Alasoro, and Alawo.
According to him, residents of these villages have fled their homes to escape violence and killings.
“To add salt to injury, the bandits invaded Bankole community near Sagbe and killed one person, rustled cattle, while the number of people abducted by the bandits cannot be accounted for,” Oba Isiaka stated.

He lamented that Sagbe lacks a police station, security facilities, or any form of government-backed protection.
“Our vigilantes have tried their best to no avail in securing the communities,” he added.
The monarch urged authorities to send soldiers, DSS operatives, and other security forces to curb the bandits’ growing presence and restore peace in the region.
