Former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, arrived in Kampala, Uganda, on Wednesday to a warm reception from government officials, academic leaders, and diplomats ahead of Cavendish University Uganda’s 14th graduation ceremony scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Jonathan, who serves as the Chancellor of the university, was received by representatives of the Ugandan government, Cavendish University Vice Chancellor Dr. Olive Sabiiti, staff members, and officials of the Nigerian High Commission.
Sharing the moment on his Instagram page, Jonathan described the occasion as a proud one and commended the institution’s continuous progress in education and innovation.
“As Chancellor, I commend CUU’s sustained growth as a top private university in Uganda,” he noted.

Jonathan is expected to preside over the graduation ceremony, where thousands of students will be conferred with degrees in various disciplines.
Cavendish University Uganda, founded in 2008, has grown to become one of the country’s leading private universities, with a strong emphasis on research, innovation, and international collaboration.
