VIDEO: Delta Police Officers Caught Counting Money From Alleged Extortion

A viral video on Tuesday, has sparked outrage online after it captured police officers in Delta State openly counting large wads of cash, allegedly obtained through daily extortion of motorists and commuters.

The footage, which surfaced on social media over the weekend, and started trending on Tuesday, August 26, shows the officers seated and sorting bundles of naira notes believed to be their “daily harvest” from road users.

The clip has fueled widespread criticism of systemic corruption and abuse of power within the police force.

Nigerians have condemned the act, describing it as “shameful” and a “betrayal of public trust.”

They called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to order an immediate investigation and ensure disciplinary action against the officers involved.

As of press time, the Delta State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the matter.

However, pressure is mounting for accountability, with many Nigerians demanding that those caught on tape face prosecution.
