Nigerian forward Victor Boniface is set for a fresh chapter in his career after completing his medical ahead of a switch to Werder Bremen, Sky Germany has reported.
The 24-year-old’s move developed at lightning pace, with Bremen opening talks on Monday before swiftly sealing an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga champions endured a dramatic day themselves, announcing the dismissal of head coach Erik ten Hag and finalising the €30 million signing of Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Fernández.
Boniface departs Leverkusen with an impressive record of 32 goals and 12 assists in 61 appearances across all competitions.

Despite his contributions, the Nigerian international found himself outside Ten Hag’s long-term plans, paving the way for his exit.
Earlier this summer, Boniface had been strongly linked with a transfer to AC Milan, but the deal collapsed following a failed medical.
Bremen will now be hoping the Super Eagles striker can rediscover his prolific form and spearhead their attack in the new Bundesliga season.
