Tokunbo Wahab Urges Collective Action Against Flooding in Lagos State

The Lagos State Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, has called for greater collective responsibility in mitigating the impact of flooding across the state.

In a message posted on his official X handle on Tuesday, Wahab emphasized that while weather patterns remain beyond human control, proactive measures can significantly reduce the risks and damage caused by flooding.

He highlighted the importance of responsible environmental practices, such as proper waste disposal and avoiding construction in flood-prone areas, as essential steps in addressing the recurrent challenge. According to him, these practices not only safeguard communities but also contribute to the state’s broader efforts to build resilient infrastructure for the future.
