Liverpool Edge Everton 2:1 to Maintain Perfect Start in Merseyside Derby

Liverpool continued their flawless start to the Premier League season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday.

The defending champions wasted no time stamping their authority on the game, as Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the encounter with a composed finish.

Hugo Ekitike then doubled the advantage in the 29th minute, capitalizing on Everton’s defensive lapse to give the Reds breathing space.

Everton, however, refused to go down without a fight. Idrissa Gueye pulled one back for the Toffees in the 59th minute, sparking hopes of a comeback for Sean Dyche’s men.
