Marc Guehi’s Liverpool Move Collapses After Medical

Liverpool’s deadline day swoop for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has sensationally fallen through despite the player already completing his medical and the necessary paperwork.

The £35m transfer, which had been lined up as one of the final deals of the window, collapsed late after complications surrounding Palace’s replacement plan.

Palace had agreed a deal for Brazilian defender Igor to step in as Guehi’s replacement, and the player even passed a medical.

However, the move broke down at the last moment, forcing the London club to pull the plug on Guehi’s switch to Anfield.

The sudden turn of events means Guehi will remain at Selhurst Park, while Liverpool—who had been counting on the England international to bolster their backline—are left frustrated at the 11th hour.

With the transfer window now closed, both clubs will have to continue the season with their current squads, leaving Guehi’s long-term future once again uncertain.
