Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa, has stirred conversations on social media after sharing her candid thoughts about marriage in a post on her Instagram story on Tuesday.
In the now-viral post, Uriel admitted that while she would have eagerly said “yes” to marriage five years ago, her perspective has since shifted. According to her, the qualities she observes in many men today have made her more cautious about the idea of settling down.
“If you had asked me 5 years ago, even 3 or 4 years ago, ‘Do you want to get married?’ I’d have said absolutely, 100% yes. Ask me now? I’d have to think twice,” she wrote.
She further explained that, in her view, the “ratio of men” available today often displays negative traits such as inconsistency, egotism, narcissism, and manipulation. Uriel humorously added that she would rather avoid living the rest of her life “on high blood pressure medication.”

Despite her reservations, the reality TV star maintained hope, expressing faith that her own marriage story would be different. “But hey – in God we trust. Mine will be different,” she concluded.
