A two-storey building collapsed on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 4 Modupeola Street, Mangoro Bus Stop, in Alimosho, Lagos State, leaving six people rescued and one man seriously injured.
The structure came down around 6:00 p.m., prompting an emergency response from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other rescue teams who arrived quickly at the site.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed the incident in a post on Instagram.
According to him, responders successfully pulled six people from the debris, including a 44-year-old man who was trapped beneath the rubble.
The victim, a resident of 10 Olabode Street in Alimosho, sustained fractures and bruises before being taken by the Lagos State Ambulance Service to the Surgical Emergency Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

Doctors reported that he was admitted in stable condition.
The other five individuals rescued from the site received treatment at a nearby private hospital for less severe injuries.
Omotoso added that the state government had commenced an investigation to establish the cause of the collapse, which has not yet been identified.
Incidents of building collapse remain a persistent challenge in Lagos, raising concerns about construction practices, enforcement of regulations, and public safety across the state.
