Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) three months ago, has made his first major political appearance since stepping down.
On Thursday, September 25, he met with APC leaders from Kano during a closed-door session in Abuja.
The talks focused on reorganising the party’s structures and building momentum for the 2027 general elections.
The meeting drew prominent politicians including Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senator Kawu Sumaila, federal lawmakers, and other senior party members.
In his address, Ganduje pressed party loyalists to step up mobilisation for the ongoing voter registration.
“Let’s see how we can encourage our people to go and register. So far, we are doing very well, and we want to assure the people of Kano State that our members will register, so that during the election, we come out in large numbers and win,” he said.

Barau also used the platform to reaffirm Kano APC’s loyalty to President Bola Tinubu.
He said, “What the President is doing and what he has done for our nation, we are solely behind him.
“We have never asked for anything from him that he has not done for us, including institutions of learning and projects.”
At the end of the talks, Kano APC leaders vowed to reclaim the state from the New Nigeria People’s Party, which is currently led by Governor Abba Yusuf.
Ganduje, a two-term former governor of Kano State, resigned from his position as APC chairman on June 27 citing “urgent and important personal matters.”
He was succeeded by Nentawe Yilwatda after Ali Dalori briefly acted in the role. In July, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
