Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, have expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances of securing re-election in the 2027 general elections.

Their position was made known on Friday during Governor Ododo’s courtesy visit to the national headquarters of the APC in Abuja, where both leaders commended the policy direction and reform efforts of the Tinubu administration.

Governor Ododo, in his remarks, pledged total loyalty to the APC and its national leadership, reiterating his support for the president and his administration’s economic and structural reforms.

“We are grateful to our national leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his bold and transformative policies that are already reshaping the economy and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity,” he stated.

The governor described Tinubu’s leadership style as deliberate, strategic, and anchored in expertise rather than experimentation, adding that Nigerians would reward the administration’s efforts with electoral support in 2027.

“It takes a bold heart like that of Mr. President to take tough but necessary decisions, especially in the petroleum sector and our monetary policies. His patriotic actions will earn him a second term,” Ododo added.

He also highlighted developments in Kogi State under his leadership, citing improvements in security, agriculture, infrastructure, and access to social services. According to him, these gains have further solidified public trust in the APC.

“In just 14 months, we have made significant strides. Our inclusive governance model has empowered youth and women, infused fresh ideas into government, and positioned the APC for stronger performance in 2027.”

Ododo commended the APC leadership for providing strategic direction and for maintaining party unity across the federation.

In his response, Dr. Ganduje praised Governor Ododo’s performance, particularly his decision to maintain a harmonious relationship with his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello. He noted that such political continuity remains rare in Nigeria’s political landscape.

“You didn’t allow room for unnecessary lobbying before appointing your commissioners. That showed vision and commitment to governance,” Ganduje said.

The APC chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to purposeful leadership, adding that governance under the current administration is driven by knowledge, research, and policy — not by trial and error.

“We are governing with knowledge. As a party, we are committed to understanding the root of challenges, including the recurring tensions between successors and predecessors in government,” he said.

Ganduje further described the APC as a dynamic, forward-looking party and assured Governor Ododo of continued support from the national leadership.

“Governors like you represent the future of progressive leadership. Mr. President has created an enabling environment for reforms, and our party continues to grow under his watch,” he stated.

The meeting comes as the APC intensifies internal consolidation efforts and positions itself ahead of the next general elections.
