Senator Sunday Marshall Katung has debunked reports suggesting he has abandoned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker representing Kaduna South made his position clear in a statement issued on Thursday, October 2, by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Midat Joseph.
According to the statement, Senator Katung remains firmly with the PDP and is committed to the mandate given to him by his constituents.
“For the record, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung is, as of today, a dedicated member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” it read.

The statement explained that while political developments are always shifting, any move of such importance would be communicated directly by the senator himself, not through social media speculation.
It further described the rumours as unnecessary distractions from his core responsibilities.
“The current rumours are needless distractions from the Senator’s primary focus, which is effective representation, legislative excellence, and attracting developmental projects to Kaduna South Senatorial District,” it stated.
Senator Katung’s office urged the public and the media to ignore the defection claims and remain assured of his continued commitment to the PDP.
